Central Spiritual Resurrection
Approx. 1934-5
"Located at 430 N. Bunker Hill in downtown L.A., the headquarters of the Central Spritual Resurrection -- also known as the House of Skulls -- was the home of 'seven invisible doctors,' a grup of spectral beings available for consultation on a variety of subjects. [Africano No Blass, for example, covered affairs of the heart, while P. Villaverde was concerned with casting evil spells.] Visitors were encouraged to sit in a private room with one of these invisible beings and hiscuss his or her ailments at length. Then, at the end of the session, the 'doctor' would repond with a veiled message -- usually a set of tones -- would be interpreted by the Center's director, R.A. Miranda, later. [Miranda, of course, was listening from another room and playing the tones on a homemade instrument.]" [Paul Young, L.A.
