Programs
The University Partnership Program (UPP) is one of the programs the
Commission plans to expand. It is a program that has unique objectives,
rules and regulations. It is specifically designed to fulfill the objective
of institutional development through the development and
internationalization of curricula. Two partner institutions (one American
and one Egyptian) are enabled, via this program, to work on a long term
relation, that may continue beyond their joint project duration of two to
three years. Their collaboration is facilitated by UPP funded exchange
visits of the participating teams.
UPP requires that exchange visits do not last for less than fourteen working
days or more than three calendar months. These short-term exchange visits
support the program objectives and give a chance to both the American and
Egyptian participants to work together without spending a long time away
from their home institutions. The Commission administers the disbursement
of funds and monitors project development. Due to the fact that project
duration ranges from two to three years, the Commission is flexible while
executing its role with regards to each UPP project.
Grant amount is $80,000.00, mainly for the support of international travel
and per diem incurred during each exchange visit, while 5% of the total grant
amount is used to purchase and ship educational materials.
