for members of the Nationalities Council of Indiana, Inc.
1. Stop the presses! Key Bank will be the presenting sponsor for the 2001 festival, with renewal options for 2002 & 2003
2. We need volunteers to help plan and implement the Opening Ceremony, Parade of Nations, and Naturalization Ceremony.
3. We need a volunteer with prior festival experience to coordinate volunteers

5. Here�s the official NCI Point System for assigning booth spaces at the Festival
(Note: dues MUST be current before group is eligible to participate in point system):
Dues paid on time (due 31 March each year):��� 1 point
Someone from group at NCI meeting:����������� ����������� 1 point (possible total: 10)
Attendance at Winter Gala:���� ����������������������� ����������� 2 points
Participation in last year�s festival:������������ ����������� 2 points
Represent NCI at other events*:����������� ����������� ����������� 1 point (total varies)
Officer or board member of NCI from group:�� 5 points

*for example, staffing NCI booth at an ethnic fair
In case of a tie, the group submitting its booth payment first (by postmark) wins.
The secretary is responsible for keeping the point tally.
Caution: The point system only applies at start of booth assignments on date announced (this year, it�s August 1, 2001). After initial assignments, booths are assigned in order of payment received.
6. We�ve invited Rafia Syeed of Bridging the Gap, a new volunteer organization of �concerned people striving t find common ground through recognizing and celebrating common values� to speak at our August meeting, when we�ll also vote on the by-laws changes proposed earlier.
7. Everyone�member or not-- is welcome to attend NCI general meetings on the second Monday of each month (except December and January). You don�t have to be a member to come � but we actively seek and welcome new members.
8. Although The Ethnic Hoosier goes to all who are interested, this supplement is prepared only for NCI members.
