The World Police and Fire Games 2001 are the biggest international news this month. Many of our member groups have banded together to entertain competitors from around the world, and many of our supporters are serving as volunteers. Everyone is invited to watch the events, which will take place throughout Central Indiana 8-16 June. And, plan to drop into the Global Village on Pan Am Plaza in downtown Indianapolis from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 10-12 June for cultural trivia games, exhibits and more free fun.
The numbers from Census 2000 are trickling in, and they confirm what we have known all along: central Indiana is a diverse metropolitan area. The Nationalities Council is considering staging workshops on the topic to be held during the International Festival, and is serving as a resource for groups looking to put faces to multiculturalism.
Remember that all are welcome to attend Council meetings. The next one is 7 p.m. 11 June, in the Willkie Room, Athenaeum, 401 East Michigan Street, Indianapolis.
Join us and hear the latest update on International Festival 2001 on 1-4 November!
