 IMPORTANT NOTICE:_

Next Meeting is 7 p.m. Monday, 9 October,

in the South Pavilion ofIndiana State Fairgrounds !

Message from the President

We are less than three weeks away from the Festival and there is still much to be done. The final meeting before the Festival will be held at the South Pavilion in order for everyone who wishes to see the facility before setup on Wednesday the 18th.It will be your only opportunity to get to move around it before the cars and booths start to get set in place. Each of the participants is invited to come out and look around. We will try to help you find where your spot will be during the Festival.

For those of you who have your nominations for officers for the coming year, I would like to have them back to me by the close of that meeting. It will be necessary to put together a slate of officers for the new year before the November Meeting. Our election is usually held during that meeting.I will ask Susan to add a copy of the nomination sheet to the minutes for your convenience.

It has been a very challenging year for all of us and has taken a rather heavy toll on me both spiritually and physically.I have advised the Executive Board that I will not seek another term of office. For personal reasons, I would like to take a year off and gather myself together.I will most certainly assist in any way that I can toward the Festival for the coming year.It is still our signature event and must continue.

As a group, we have had an especially fulfilling year in ways that many of us might not have dreamed of in the beginning. One boost toward our success has been participating in the 500 Festival Parade. It was a great deal of fun for all that participated.I want to thank each of you for your support during the challenges of this year and share all the success that is still to come with each of you.I still firmly believe our Festival will be a success given the adjustments that have had to be made.I also believe that our doubters will again return to the fold this coming year and that we will be even bigger and better. We must all dig down within ourselves and continue to believe in that dream lest we lose it for all time.We owe to those who have established it, we owe it to ourselves for the sweat equity we have invested in it and we owe it to the future to assure that it continues for many more decades to come.

Again, my profound thanks to all of you for your trust and for your belief in what we can do.Most of all, thanks to all of you for your love of who we are.You are the finest group of people it has ever been my privilege to serve.

Chuck
