At Hudson Institute
Friday April 19 2002 4:00 PM

This Friday, April 19, Hudson is pleased to host Wilfried Schneider, Deputy Director of Press and Public Affairs for the EU's European Commission Delegation to the United States. This is a great time to be able to grill an official spokesperson from the EU. I am looking forward to discussing Europe's view of America's war on terrorism, the possible glitches ahead for EU expansion eastward, the role the EU sees for itself in the Middle East, the impact of the Euro ... we have a lot to talk about.

Prior to his arrival in the U.S. two years ago, Mr. Schneider spent almost ten years as an official in the Directorate General for Communication, Information and Culture at the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels, where he was in charge of organizing and implementing information activities targeted to trade unions and socially oriented NGOs in several member states of the European Union, covering the entire process of European integration, as well as a wide range of other policies and institutional issues.

Before his current assignment, Mr. Schneider occupied different posts including Head of the Transport Policy and International Relations units at the headquarters of the German Public Service and Transport Workers Union,  and served a five-year posting as Labor Attach at the German Embassy in Madrid, Spain.

This meeting is open to anyone, so please feel free to forward this invitation. If you would like to attend this talk, please let me know at [email protected] or 549-4159. I'm looking forward to seeing you Friday.
