The International Tibet Independence Movement was founded
on March 19, 1995, by Thubten Jigme Norbu (Oldest Brother of The Dalai Lama
and Retired Professor at Indiana University) and Dr. Lawrence Gerstein
(Professor at Ball State University and President of ITIM) to secure Tibet's
independence through non-violent methods. It is based in Fishers, Indiana.
