The Center for Urban and Multicultural Education co-sponsors the El Puente project with the Hispanic Education Center, and the Arsenal Tech and Northwest High Schools of Indianapolis. The El Puente project seeks to demonstrate an effective school-community program model for retaining and graduating economically disadvantaged Hispanic youth so that they are successfully prepared to enter college or technical schools, are economically productive, and can make meaningful civic contributions to the Indiana community. The project works with two inner-city public high schools and three feeder middle schools.
