About the Program

The International Center of Indianapolis (ICI) is the Indiana member of NCIV, administering the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) for the U.S. Department of State.American Ambassadors describe the IVLP as "the most important foreign policy tool the US has at its disposal."International visitors come to the United States to exchange ideas, to meet with professional counterparts and to obtain firsthand knowledge about the United States, its people, policies, and culture. Lasting business, cultural, and educational contacts with prominent professionals overseas often develop.

In fiscal 2004, Indiana attracted approximately 150 visitors through the IVLP and generated more than $60,000 in in-kind contributions by local hosts to the International Center.
