Dr. Spyros Konidaris
Dr. Spyros Konidaris joined the European Commission in 1985 and has
directed major cooperative R&D; Programmes in Information and
Communications Technologies. Many of these programmes have significantly
advanced the technological base in Europe and yielded important results.
Born in Athens, Dr. Konidaris graduated the University of Athens (BSc in
Physics) and received his Master of Technology and Doctor of Philosophy
Degrees in Microelectronics and Optoelectronics in Brunel University
London, UK. He did post-doctoral work in Boulder and the University of
Tucson (Arizona) on Fiber Optics. Currently Dr. Konidaris is on eight
months sabbatical leave at the European Union Center and the Graduate
School of Public and International Affairs at University of Pittsburgh.
