Mission/History
"We are made up of more than 40 families of Swiss descent, or who formerly lived in Switzerland. Membership is open to persons of Swiss nationality, or Swiss
descent, to residents or former residents of Switzerland, and to persons with a sincere interest in Swiss culture or history."
"The Swiss Club of Central Indiana was founded in 1979 by Frieda Nyhart-Erni and a small group of Indianapolis residents of Swiss decent; their purpose was to provide an organization where Swiss nationals and Swiss-Americans could preserve and maintain their national heritage. The Club also strives to provide information on the heritage, traditions and customs of Switzerland to schools, youth groups, civic organizations or individuals in the Indianapolis area. Club members also provide hospitality and assistance to Swiss visitors in our city."(2)
