2002 Annual Report: Indianapolis-Piran Sister City Committee

 

        Adoption of by-laws by membership.

        Provided translation assistance to Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library for Slovenian folk tale, �The Three Tests� read by Primoz Brezec of Indiana Pacers.

        Reciprocal visit to Piran made by several IPSCC members.

        Initial contact with IMCPL regarding cooperation with new Haughville Library.

        Participation and financial contribution to 2002 Slovene Fest.

        Introductory meeting with Mayor Peterson.

        Participation with Slovenian Cultural Society in 2002 International Festival.

        Initiated e-pen pal relationship between fifth grade students at IPS School 46 and Secovlje elementary school (south of Piran).

        Commenced planning for GEA College students� internship with University of Indianapolis and Kroger Company.

        Initial contact made with Italian Heritage Society and Indianapolis-Cologne Sister City Committee for future mutual cooperation.

        Adopted resolution of support for Slovenian membership in NATO.

        Conducted regular business meeting at Slovenian National Home.
