SLOVENIAN NATIONAL HOME � 2717 WEST 10TH STREET

 

You are most cordially invited to attend the 2003 Annual Meeting Program of the Indianapolis-Piran Sister City Committee. Please feel free to bring any family members and friends interested in Slovenian culture. Enter through the rear door. Parking is available on the fenced lots on the east or west side of The Home or on the street.

 

11:00 a.m. � 11:30 a.m. � Food set-up/social period

 

11:30 a.m. � 11:55 a.m. - Annual Meeting/Election of Officers

 

12:00 p.m. � 1:30 p.m. - Pitch-In Luncheon. The Committee will furnish the meats/sausages; please bring a salad, vegetables, side dish or potica. Refreshments will be available at The National Home.

 

1:30 p.m. � 2:30 p.m. - Professor James Divita, Marian College, will discuss early 20th century life in Slovenia, Slovene emigration patterns in America and settlement in Indianapolis. There will be time for Q & A. Copies of the book, Slaves to No One, on the history of Holy Trinity Church will be available for purchase.

 

2:30 p.m. � 3:00 p.m. � Welcoming Reception for Bojan Gogala and Matjaz Kriznar, students from GEA College in Piran. They will be doing an internship through the University of Indianapolis and working at Kroger from mid-January to mid-March.

 

Please help us welcome the Slovene college students, have lunch and hear about future Committee projects involving our Sister City of Piran, the jewel of the Adriatic.
