Dear Kith and Kin:
It is hard to believe that, as we arrive in the month of March, I am completing the first quarter of my term as President of the Nationalities Council of Indiana, and the NCI Executive Committee has been hard at work.
The Winter Gala at the Istanbul Café, which was arranged by Ahmet Fehr of the American Turkish Association of Indiana, with the assistance of Marife Callender, Leslie Clumb and Alma Smith, was enjoyed by everyone present.
Our NCI bylaws, which were originally approved in 1995, revised in 2000, and again in 2002, are undergoing a much needed review and reorganization for the purposes of clarity, under the very capable hand of Leslie Clumb.
The meeting of February 8, which ran until almost 9:00 PM, was a lively, but orderly, exchange of information, at which Treasurer Alma Smith provided the most thorough Year End Financial Report that the NCI has received to date.
Another highlight of the February meeting was the acknowledgement of the success of the 2015 International Festival, and the unanimous adoption of a proposal to contract Marife Callender as our Event Manager.
