\par "Plaza Comunitaria, a consortium of local agencies in Bloomington, Ind., and the Mexican Government, provides Spanish speakers with an opportunity to complete their education up to the 9th grade level, and provides referrals for GED and English classes. Trained community volunteers using teaching resources donated by the Mexican Adult Education Institute will teach the classes.

\par "Plaza Comunitaria allows participants to advance their education in their native language with the guidance of culturally sensitive instructors and curriculum. After completion of the program, students will receive a certificate, be better equipped to learn English, prepared for the job market, and will acquire necessary tools to assist in their children's education.

\par "The Plaza Comunitaria organizing committee is comprised of representatives from Ivy Tech State College-Bloomington campus, Monroe County Community School Corporation\rquote s Adult Education Program, St. Paul Catholic Center, and Women In Connection.
