We did it, again! This years International Festival was the best ever! This years edition had more food booths and displays from more cultures than before. Attendance was terrific, and the media coverage extensive. Special thanks to Mayor Bart Peterson for opening the festival, and to Judge Larry McKinney for conducting the Naturalization Ceremony. Now we all have some time to rest, relax and plan for next November!
For NCI members, one of the highlights of each festival is the judging. Taking home top honors in both ethnic food and cultural booth categories was the Taiwanese-American Association of Indianapolis. First prize for food went to Taste of Congo. Other cultural booth categories and winners are: Theme Czech-Slovak Society (runner-up), Barangay Club(1st); educational value Society for the Preservation of Persian Culture (runner-up), Latvian Community Center (1st); creativity Slovenian Cultural Society (runner-up), Japan-America Society of Indiana (1st), and quality Indianapolis Minyo Dancers (runner-up) and Sons of Norway Circle City Lodge #5-614 (1st).

Some folks on Indys near Westside are complaining about business signs
