NCI Update

Special projects that cross ethnic group boundaries are being developed by the Nationalities Council as 2002 turns into 2003. With our signature event, the International Festival (set for 6-9 November this fall), well on track under professional management (with NCI oversight!), we can turn our attention to other topics of interest to all such as second language acquisition, international adoption, tensions between immigrants and long-time residents, and the challenges of intercultural marriage. Immigration and other visa issues remain crucial to many of us, from naturalized citizens who host their non-citizen parents for extended visits in the U.S. to the male residents 16 and older from 15 counties who are now required to report to the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

Our website continues to grow (Drew Applebys Ethnic and Regional Restaurant Guide was updated, again, this month). Check the calendar for new listings often!
