In December, the Indianapolis-Scarborough Peace Games came to an end after more than thirty years of annual competitions alternating between Indianapolis and Canada?

 

Four faculty from Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis have received Fulbright grants? The scholars, their departments and destinations are: Frederick Bein, geography, Mozambique; Keith Michael Kovach, mechanical engineering technology, Romania; Karen Kovacik, English, Poland, and Mohamed Nalim, mechanical engineering, Sri Lanka. Sofija Micic, School of Medicine, University of Belgrade, Serbia, is coming to IUPUI on a Fulbright to do linguistic research on medical terms.

 

Park Tudor Upper School Spanish teacher David Malcom was named Indiana State Foreign Language Teacher of the Year for secondary teachers by the Indiana State Foreign Language Teachers Association?

Brazilian theatre artist and educator Joice de Brito e Cunha visited Indiana in 2004 to study how to adapt her programs to the needs of the blind and visually impaired?

 

Eighteen Park Tudor fourth and fifth graders traveled to Montevideo, Uruguay, in October for an exchange with students from the Scuola Italiana di Montevideo?

 

Youth Agriculture Exchange is a cooperative program of the FFA and Indiana Partners of the Americas. In 2004, three Hoosier teenagers and a teacher traveled to Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil: Jeremy Christman, Poneto; Raychel Frances Dodd, Rushville; Kathleen Marie Pickering, Knightstown, and Blair Orme, Rushville (teacher).

In memoriam�

 

Mitchell E. Daniels Sr., founder of the Japan-America Society of Indiana, died 7 August 2004. He served as Executive Director Emeritus of JASI until his death at age 81.
