����������� The 2000 U.S. Census shows a total Indiana population of 5,902,331. A few details: there were 19,701 Native Americans� and 176,844 who were Hispanic/Latino � plus 90,287 Hoosiers who checked off �two or more races� on the form.
Of the total, 1,572,374 lived in the metropolitan statistical area (MSA) of Indianapolis. Four percent of the people living in Indy at the time of the census were foreign born. (Of those born in the U.S., 73 percent who were born in Indiana.) Two percent of the people living in Fort Wayne were foreign born.

Anthony Ashton Tarr, who becomes dean of the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis on 1 July, comes to the Hoosier state from the University of Queensland, Australia? According to an Indianapolis Business Journal article, the law school in Indy will enroll its first class of foreign law graduates and lawyers in a new degree program this fall. Called the Master of Laws Program in American Law for Foreign Lawyers, it will allow graduates to sit for bar exams in 11 U.S. jurisdictions.
