Presidents Message . . . . . Na vase zdravje!*

NCI members are invited to participate in the IPS Multicultural Festival set for Saturday May 15 at Glendale Mall from 10 am. 4 p.m. NCI First Vice President Ahmet Fer will provide more information at the May 10 meeting. Come on down (or up?).

Our guest speaker at that meeting will be Linda Murray, Volunteer Manager at Indy Parks. Linda will discuss the Indy Parks Soccer TournamentJune 4 6 with teams invited from Japan and France. If you are interested in serving as a language translator, youll want to hear Linda. I am hopeful this will be the beginning of a mutually beneficial relationship between NCI and Indy Parks.

My favorite haiku poet is Slavica Savli, high school teacher in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Slavica has inspired me to read and think haiku. Among her poems, my favorite:

In the joyful pond

my daughter and a lotus -

moons round the sun.

A pleasant image as May comes round the bend!

Mir,

Josef

*The salutation is Slovenian: To your health!
