Presidents Message..

All come together,

multicultural party

at the State Fairgrounds!

Every autumn

Asia, Africa, Europe

and Americas.

Enjoy history

of a different culture.

See crafts and taste food.

Representation

one, all diversity

and democracy.

On November first:

discuss, consider, elect

Board of Directors.

The above haiku poetry is offered in reference to the International Festival (stanzas 1-3) and NCI Board of Director elections (stanzas 4-5). I gratefully acknowledge my admiration for Japanese haiku poets Basho (1644-1694), Issa (1763-1827) and contemporary Slovene poet, Slavica Savli. While the 5/7/5 rhythm of haiku seems simple on the surface, it has an infinite number of word combinations and interpretation by the reader. Seems like an appropriate description of NCI and the International Festival to me.

By separate correspondence, members will receive the list of proposed NCI Directors and Officer for 2005. Your attention and participation in our election is important to you and the organization. Please feel free to contact any candidate for further information on their goals for the organization.

Tell your neighbors, friends and family the time is here to celebrate our diversity as a world-class city at the International Festival!

Mir,

Josef

Josef Laposa, President
