NCI Update

The Nationalities Council of Indiana is hosting a table at the Mayors Community Fair on Monument Circle in Indianapolis on 11 September. NCI-member ethnic groups, plus the Asian American Alliance of Indiana (also an NCI member) and the International Center will be joining us. Come visit us between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.!

September is packed with international events (see the calendar on our website for complete details). As a prequel, the American Turkish Alliance of Indiana held a Turkish Festival on 31 August in honor of their home countrys players in the 2002 World Basketball Championships (thru the 8th). Other big events are the International Violin Competition (6th-22nd), the World Hovercraft Championships (15th-22nd) and the U.S. Grand Prix Formula One Race (29th).

Ethnic events abound. The traditional German Oktoberfests began in German Park on 31 August, and continue on the 1st, 6th and 7th. Others are Slovene Fest (1st), Greek Festival (6-7th ), Irish Fest (13-15th), French Market (14th), Mexican Independence Day (15th),Potawatomi (20-22nd ) and Fiesta! (21st). Welcome to the world in Indiana!
