History/Mission

"In 1976, several dedicated Japanese ladies decided to form a non-profit dance organization to provide educational performances and demonstrations to introduce Japanese culture to the United States.

"With extreme dedication to detail, skilled choreographers were brought from Japan to ensure the ancient dance steps and body movements would not be lost. The Minyo Club dancers' kimonos and accessories are tailored to match historically correct samples.

"This dedication to the Japanese culture still exists today after numerous performances. In the past twenty years the Minyo Club of Indianapolis has performed at many locations throught the city and the Midwest.

"The Minyo Club of Indianapolis would like to share this exciting cultural adventure with you.
