 Dear NCI Member:
I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. August is the month when the Indiana State Fair is celebrated. This year it will be from August 1 thru 17. The year 2014 is marked as the “Year of the Coliseum” due to the renovation of the Shane Co. Coliseum with a $53 million face lift. The Indiana State fair have been showcasing and educating the general public about agriculture, maintaining and promoting Indiana’s agricultural heritage, current production methods and future developments, and entertaining the public.
I would like to say “THANK YOU” to the following groups that will be participating and performing at the State Fair: Ensamble Folklorico, Mosaicos, Sayaw Philippine Cultural Dance Company and the Philippine Children’s Dance Group. Their volunteer hours will allow NCI to get a price break on building rental fees for the West Pavilion for the International Festival 2014.
Some of the NCI officers and members attended the UniverSoul Circus with our partner with IMC last July 18, 2014and the show was fantastic. Touting itself as “the most interactive circus in the world,” UniverSoul Circus brings together acts from all over the world, including the Zhenjang Acrobatic Troupe from China, Caribbean Callaloo from Trinidad, Queens of Sheba from Ethiopia, and Globe of Death from Colombia.
On July 28, 2014, Alma and Jerome Smith and I attended the opening of the Manthan International Market. We had an NCI booth and distributed International Festival flyers.
I look forward to meeting everyone on August 11, 2014 at the NCI meeting.
