Dear NCI Member:

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

Families often celebrate Independence Day by hosting or attending a picnic or barbecue and take advantage of the day off and, in some years, long weekend to gather with relatives. Decorations are generally colored red, white, and blue, the colors of the American flag. Parades often are in the morning, while fireworks displays occur in the evening at such places as parks, fairgrounds, or town squares.

This is the first time that NCI participated in the Carmel July 4th Festival Parade.

Thank you! to Eileen Tsai, Frances Russell, Leslie Clumb, Nati Dumaual, Philippine Barangay Club, Carson Smith and the Scottish Society of Indianapolis for participating. We all had fun marching from Main Street to Carmel High School.

A special thank you to Centier Bank of Carmel, who let us use their parking spaces and facilities.

NCI is also partnering with International Marketplace Coalition, and our first venue is doing UniverSoul Circus July 12 and 18 (www.universoulcircus.com; more information during the upcoming NCI meeting).
