Dear NCI Member:

“THANK YOU” and a Fantastic Job! to all the different NCI Ethnic groups that participated during the Indy 500 Festival Parade and to Peter Kirkwood, International Center, for allowing us to use the international flags for the parade. To Pat Hubley from The Promotion Company for using their facilities and to Eileen Tsai who did a wonderful job being the NCI Indy 500 Festival coordinator. NCI was honored to be right behind the Indiana State Governor Mike Pence’s car and in addition, Channel 8 zoomed in our NCI Unit and banner that aired last May 24, 2014. Last, but not least, thanks to Mitch Zheng for sharing his fantastic photos of the Parade: Click here

On May 17, 2014, NCI participated in the IPS/IEA Multicultural Festival held at Lafayette Square Mall. Thank you to Mauvene Borton, Maria Manalang, Alma Smith, Geetha Babu, and Leslie Clumb for watching the NCI booth. The IPS parents were out in full force to see the student performances.

The following day, May 18, 2014, NCI participated in the Haitian Annual Flag Day celebration at St. Michael’s Gym. We are promoting the International Festival 2014. Thank you to Mauvene Borton, Maria Manalang, Alma Smith, Tess Soliven, Leslie Clumb, Kylee Nelson, Katia Vila, Isaac Velasquez, and Hardeep Singh for watching the NCI booth.

And stay tuned for upcoming events!

June 7, 11 AM to 4 PM, NCI will be at the Asian Fest – come out and check out our booth. I will be serving as Master of Ceremonies, along with the lovely and talented Mari Yamaguchi. There will be food, performances, and loads of fun for kids of all ages, so please join us. Sponsored by one of our member organizations, Asian American Alliance, It takes place at Indiana State Museum/White River State Park, and admission is free.

Also, please join us at the CarmelFest Fourth of July Parade, the “Spirit of America!” The parade steps off at 10:30 a.m. on July 4th at AAA Way and Carmel Drive. The parade travels west on Carmel Drive to Rangeline Road, turning North to Main Street, travelling east on Main and ending at Carmel High School. NCI will be there to celebrate the diversity that makes up this great country. More information will be available at the June 9th meeting.

Thank you for all that you do for NCI and your continued support.

I forward to meeting everyone in the upcoming NCI meeting June 9, 2014.
