INDIANAPOLIS, May 2014–What does the color Red symbolize in China? In which Asian country do 100 of the Fortune 500 U.S. companies have R & D facilities? Get answers to these interesting facts and much more at the seventh annual Asian Fest on Saturday, June 7th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Indiana State Museum/White River State Park in downtown Indianapolis. This family-friendly festival is hosted by Asian American Alliance, Inc. ADMISSION IS FREE.

Instead of flying 18 hours to travel to Asia, Central Indiana residents can experience the many dimensions of Asia in their own backyard. From a presentation on Feng Shui, the ancient Chinese art and science of balancing the energy in space to bring health and good fortune, to an array of dazzling costumes from many Asian countries, to traditional dance and music performances of India, the Philippines and more, there is something for everyone. This year, the festival’s spotlight is on China and the Chinese culture.

During the festival, Asian American Alliance, Inc. will award scholarships to deserving high school students in the metro area.

The 2014 Asian Fest is made possible by these generous sponsors: McDonald’s, Kroger, Crowe Horwath, PNC, Telamon, WellPoint, Indiana State Museum, White River State Park, NUVO, and Bolo/Row Printing.

AAAI is a local, non-profit organization with a mission to empower Asian Americans to serve and lead in businesses and communities. Visit http://www.aaalliance.org/ to learn more.
